Ladybird provides Nursery and Toddler children with what they need: a safe place with rich opportunities to use all their senses to explore new things freely. They want to feel independent, capable, and competent. The child's first three years are critical for the development of the brain. We realize that Nursery and Toddler children should be exposed to a world filled with responsive interactions to support their social, emotional, language, cognitive and physical development. Our learning centers and teaching approach provide enough structure to allow children develop a sense of confidence and control within the daily routine whilst maintaining flexibility to meet the individual needs of all our students. The program allows children to make choices and engage in self-directed play individually, in pairs and in small and large groups, Learning centers offer guided experiences that encompass all the skills and understanding necessary for optimum development and success in school. Toddlers are supported in their self-help skills and encouraged to help with daily routines to become familiar with the sequence of routines and foster their self-esteem. Kindergarten 1 Kindergarten 2
Throughout the day, children make self-directed and guided choices using Learning Centers. They will participate in projects individually and in small and large groups. Students are encouraged to question, investigate, reflect upon, and document their learning experiences,
Kindergarten 1 and 2 programs are designed for each child to learn the necessary skills and understanding to succeed in kindergarten. By implementing Multiple Intelligences Theory into our lessons, children continue to thrive both academically and socially. With the Project Approach we provide a learning environment which presents real choices. Within this children are enabled to make good decisions which are supported by the emergent curriculum. This in turn encourages the rapidly developing ideas and skills of the children. Kindergarten 3 Age: five years old to six years old Adult/children Ratio: 1:5 Ladybird realizes that Kindergarten 3 children will soon be entering primary schools. The role of kindergarten has changed with increased expectations for formal instruction. Primary schools have a range of expectations regarding the level of a child’s readiness for physical, social and academic performance. Ladybird develops expectations and practices which have a definite relevance to the international schools that the children will be attending. There is a clear emphasis on the development of mathematics, social studies, science, and literacy skills. Skills of listening carefully, following on assigned tasks, and working cooperatively are reinforced as children are engaged in projects and daily activities. |
